sorry it took me a while to post again, i have to say that due to my opening of AR Photography in my hometown Manson, Iowa i just can't find a second to scrapbook. Sad as it is.. so this blog will stand still for a little while until the days will get shorter and the wheater will force me to stay home and make me scrapbook again!!!

..but finally i got my scrapbooking pages photographed and on my laptop.

Those two layouts i did on my vacation. I scrapped as much as i got inspired down there.. but without my little desk and german tv going and everything.. i didn't got quit that much inspired that i thought i would be

But i have to be thankful for what i got done.. and here it is!

i got my prize in the mail from the sister's challenge i played along at the fabulous National Scrapbooking Day!! Got i am excited.. so many Hambly's and RubOn's! I am already thinking about all those fantastic things i could do with them.

And than.. what is it with me and all those deadlines i always manage to miss by one day.. god i hate it! i guess i just need way to much time to get done with a layout! But i need to be creative in order to do something.. and i am not creative every hour of my day.. sometimes i am sitting in front of a half done layout for hours not knowing what to do with it..

I have to admit that i still have one or two layouts sitting here somewhere waiting for them to get finished.. hopefully someday i will have the idea i was waiting for the whole time and than i am able to finish them.. finally!

So here.. is one of those layouts where i missed the deadline by a couple of days, cause i just couldn't think of how to design the rest of my playlist!

But i had a lot of fun doing the research on my favourite songs right now.. thank god for itunes!

my first senior shoot is done and i just had to scrapbook about it! and try to use some of the new Scarlet Lime Kit i got in the mail a week ago. LOVE the kit, not so much the layout!

but i got the journaling done and that was the most important on thise page!

my little ally got some bubbles for her birthday.. and that's pretty much my job now to make bubbles for her and her friend. So all i am seeing right now are bubbles! And here they are my wonderful colorful thought bubbles!

oh shoot.. it is on the side.. oh well we all need some head exercise sitting on the computer! a little tilt to the right and stretch! now i should post another layout turned to the left!

One of my layouts got picked again for the catwalk at Sistv. Last week it was my BEST layout, i thought i screwed up in the beginning and this is why i started journaling and painting and.. awesome it turned out great!

And the other was my SUMMER layout i made yesterday. Got a little inspired by Corinne's NSD SKETCH! challenge. Loved the circle idea!

And i also discovered that Mikaela is showing one of my layouts i made for the BEAT CONTROL challenge over at the MUSIC makes the people come together challenge blog. Love her video challenges!! It is really something totally different to let yourself gettin inspired by a music video.. challenges you in a whole different way i think!

So let me challenge you now to go to a challenge blog and participate! It is sooo much fun and sometimes you can even win something!

HAPPY NSD you all!!!!

So this weekend was super exciting for all the scrapbooking addicts out there.. for me not sooo much! cause as a mama from a one year old, you can't sit in front of your computer and desk all day! I WISH!

But as much as i could.. i of course did! And than how fun is that.. the only challenge over at SIStv i could participate in i actually one! I am sooo thrilled.. cause this is now the second time i won something when it comes to Scrapbooking. And normally i don't win! NEVER!

So a couple of weeks ago i won in a random drawing over at Backporch Memories! Package came last week.. full of cute little goodies!

And than i discovered a post on the SIStv message board about showing of the Scrapbook Area in your house! Thought it was fun and so here it is..

Nothing to special.. cause it is right in my daugthers room.. but it is a place i call MINE most of the time! And that's what's important, right?

And since i discovered the greatness of german internet tv, i can watch german television while scrapbooking my heart out! how great is that!

And here is my may manifesto for one of the NSD challenges i tried to participate but i didn't made it on time! But better late than never!

Some new Layouts to share

I was quite busy the last couple of days.. did a lot of scrapbooking and photoworking! Got the new Dozens Kit and the new Scarlet Lime kit and i love them soo much that i could not get away from my desk! Love the bright colors and the fun patternd paper! Specialy the SEI one with all the great textures and flowers!

this is created with the new Dozens kit! Gosh do i love the monster paper and the fun fabric paper from elsie! what a awesome kit!!!

this layout is for the challenge over at the Goodie Box!! Loved the challenge!!!

oh and of course some more scrappiness with the awesome Dozens kit!!! I could finally scrap this Halloween picture without using all those boring Halloween stickers i had flying around! This layout is so much more fun!!!

..and of course the fantastic Scarlet Lime kit. I love it.. this is the only kit club i consider buying the add on kit every month. It is soooo fantastic! And it brings out a totally different Scrapbooker in me! Cause normally i am more of a chaotic scrapbooker with no journaling and just random things on my page.. and cause there comes always those great journal stamps with the kit, i actually started to journal quite a bit on my pages.

It is sooo funny.. whenever i shop in a scrapbook store i go ahead and by sooo many embellishments that even i start to wonder if i am still ticking right. And than i come home and start scrapbooking...

...and end up just not using them. Cause i either paint or cut my own embellishments out.

Not that this is bad for me... but bad for all the cute little embellishments sitting on my desk.. waiting to be used!

So.. this is why i got all out.. (haha ha ha!!!!) on this layout and used some of the stuff which came in the Scarlet Lime kit of april.

Yep, and this is the best i could do.. but i am not givin up and challenging me right now to make a new layout, using at least 15 embellishments on it!!!

So stay tuned and watch what's coming..

Petit Punch and the best layout to date..

Emma asked me to make an example layout for the Petit Punch group with the
theme... my essential object or favourite object. And here it is.. not so artsy and fun
as i wanted it to be but oh well.. i am working on my Journal Art style. It was fun
and that's all it matters! right????

My Scarlet Lime kit came in the mail too and so i had to do a new layout right away!

i love the roll around stamp which came in the kit the most.. what a fun thing! i guess i have to get me more of those fun stamps!

and here... tam ta tam.. my BEST layout to date.. as somebody on SIS commented! i don't know about that.. but i am pretty much in love with it.

And of course it is made with the awesome DOZENS KIT from april.

i love to do challenges.. so of course i had to do the new challenge over at Mikaela's blog MUSIC MAKES THE PEOPLE COME TOGETHER!! the video is super fun and cause it is so funky and pop... i thought about painting a little and doing something different than i normally do. so here it is..

oh and cause i thought that everybody loves challenges i thought it would be a fun idea to post my *dEviLisH sCraPaLiciOus* group challenge! this is what i wrote at the flickr group!

"okay.. so i just came home to my scrapbooking stuff and i kinda need to get warm again.. this is when i started to question my style and the way i scrapbooked before i left to germany.and i kinda stumbled over a lot of ribbon just laying around and left over from all the kits i bought.

Cause if i don't use something from a kit than it is the ribbon and the stamps!so here the challenge.... use on a layout, card or painting or whatever you wanna produce the kind of material or tool you use the LEAST as a scrapbooker!

challenge yourself to actually USE the ribbon you always buy but never use or the buttons which are nice to look at but hard to use!and than of course post them here in our group!!! can't wait what you all gonna come up with!"

my grandpa, my hero

While i was visiting my family in germany, my grandpa went to be with the angels. And cause my grandpa was quite an artist i decided to share a painting he did for my grandma when they were young. It shows his familys farm im Sudetenland.

My grandpa was my hero and the most important person right after my parents. I am so thankful that i was able to say goodbye to him and to show him Ally.

During war my grandpa was shot into the knee and survived as one of the only ones in his troop. He only was able to keep his leg cause he played a trick on the people who transported him to the medical camp.

And at the end of the war he escaped from the russians and walked 600 kilometers all the way to austria into the Alps to find my grandma. He had to run for his life quite often.

I still have to think of him showing me his scar on his knee whenever i asked him too. And him saying while we went on a hike with the family.. "come we take a shortcut" and than we just wandered off thru the wood, finding a faster way over fences and fields.
or me sitting on the back of his old bike, riding into the woods near our little house on the lake to get earth for the garden.

those where the most special moments in my life and i will never forget them!

grandpa, thank you for all you've teached me.. i miss you!

this has nothing to do with Scrapbooking.. but i need to post that video so bad! Thomas Godoj from Germany search for the Superstar or whatever you wanna call it DSDS! I've never been actually a fan of that show but this guy makes me wanna watch it every week. Too bad i live in the USA, so i watch his performance over YOU TUBE! Thank god for the internet!
And I am a fan.. already! His CD, whenever it will come is already bought by me!

and finally finally i got a new layout to share with you. it is pretty hard to get into scrapbooking again after 4 weeks of doing nothing.

this is why i started that new challenge over at the *dEviLisH sCrapaLiciOus* group!
i challenge you and me to use those scrapbooking supplies you normally avoid to use. for me that is the ribbon.. i love to buy ribbon but i hardly never use it! Almost the same is with the stamps.. i loooovveee stamps on other layouts but on mine... i am to afraid to use them!

so feel inspired and get going to use your favourite decorative stack of stuff you bought a long long time ago knowing that you will probably never use it.. "but it would look so good in a jar on my cupboard" :)
